Bookkeeper

Mark Amato is the Bookkeeper for Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation.

He most recently served as Treasurer, and in the past, President, for the Board of Directors.

In 2025, he retired from his farm manager position at Verrill Farm, where he managed 150 acres of vegetable production for retail and restaurant sales. Verrill Farm is a 100-year-old family farm in historic Concord, MA.

Mark graduated from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture in 1980 with a degree in fruit and vegetable production.

Mark was the 2023 recipient of the Ogonowski Award. The John Ogonowski Award for leadership and dedication is given to a Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) member who has demonstrated distinguished service to the organization, to agriculture, and to their community. The award honors those farmers who are not only a fixture in the Farm Bureau  community, but also give back to their broader community. Each County Farm Bureau has the opportunity to nominate someone from their community.
